Scan for readers and cards. Install pcsc-tools and start the pcsc_scan (1) utility, then connect the Smart card reader and finally insert a card. If you see output like this, the smart card reader and also the card have been successfully recognized. $ pcsc_scan.
SD card. SD cards have the top-right corner cut off and indentations where the contact pins are. To insert the card, the card's label should be face-up, with the contact pins facing down, as shown here. The indentations line up in the reader, and the card clicks into place when inserted properly.
Using Tpmvscmgr.exe. To create and delete TPM virtual smart cards for end users, the Tpmvscmgr command-line tool is included as a command-line tool with the operating system. You can use the Create and Delete parameters to manage virtual smart cards on local or remote computers. For information about using this tool, see Tpmvscmgr.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Disk Drives - SD Card Reader or similar - double click - Driver tab -. click Update Drivers (this will likely do nothing as MS is far behind certifying drivers) then Right Click. on it UNINSTALL. Now move to USB Controllers - Right Click - UNINSTALL everything in the Category one at time EXCEPT.
Note After a user logs on to the computer by using a password and then logs off from the computer, the virtual smart card logon option is displayed as expected on the logon screen. Issue 2. Assume that you have a physical smart card reader connected to the computer, and there is no physical smart card in the smart card reader.

To use smart cards, client machines must have smart card middleware and a smart card reader. To install certificates on smart cards, you must set up a computer to act as an enrollment station. Go to your Android phone’s Settings. Click on the Storage or Memory. Under the SD Card section, click on the Unmount SD card. This will safely remove your SD card from the device. Now, wait for 2-3 seconds, and reinsert the SD card. Again, head to the Settings app and check if SD card is recognizable.
Blue icon: Card present. Gray icon: Reader/card is shared in another session. Click the reader you would like to share with the remote computer. Once the reader has been virtualized on the remote system, a message indicating that you have shared this reader is logged in the chat window. The selected reader is now available to use on the remote
1) Downloaded and installed the smart card device driver for my vendor laptop (e.g., HP, Dell, etc) which I have an Alcore Micro USB Smart Card Reader.
